This year, the Kentucky Quilting Project made a documentary about quilting called Why Quilts Matter: History, Art & Politics. I've only seen clips, but I love what I've seen so far! Check out the clip below about quilts as art. Youtube has other clips too.

I am very impressed by Sun K. Kwak's art using black masking tape. Her work is so much about contrast. I love using contrast in my quilt designs.
Read more at the Brooklyn Museum website and I LOVE STICKY TAPE's blog post about the work.

This past weekend I visited some friends in Virginia. We passed through Floyd, Virginia and stopped at Schoolhouse Fabrics. I was so amazed. The establishment is a former school turned into a fabric store. The rooms were large and had so much fabric. It was so much fun! I wish I had more time there. I did find some fabric for a project I'm working on at a very good price. I guess I'll have to go back next time I'm in southern Virginia.
